Separation Again

Keyara sighed as they just left Valak Mountain, walking toward the road toward Galahad Fortress. As they neared, they noticed a few supply ships. Smirking, she looked at Alvis over her shoulder, and he smirked back at her, turning his head a bit, hiding his true intention's.

'She's going to kill me...I just know it.' Alvis thought as he explained to the others why they were there, and chuckled at Shulks' comment.

As they got closer, Keyara noticed that Alvis seemed to be debating something, his ether waves told her. Looking at him, she noticed his ether waves were differing highly in colors. From green, straight to red, then to yellow. Confused, she titled her head, looking at him, and he noticed as he stopped, and looked at her.

"Are you okay Keyara?" He asked, grabbing the others attention.

"I was about to ask you that. Your ether waves are changing at a high rate, are you okay?" Keyara asked, concern heavy in her voice.

"Hm? Oh, yeah, sorry. I know that was probably distracting you...I was having an internal debate." Alvis said, walking toward her, and they continued forward, in stride with one another.

'He seems closer to her than normal for some reason. Is something going on?' Melia wondered, noticing how close they were to one another.

As they reached Dickson, and spoke, Alvis walked toward Dickson, standing beside him.

"I fear this is where we part ways with one another. I must report back to his Majesty, and there are my duties as a Seer." Alvis said, and before Keyara could go to stand beside him, Alvis held a hand up, making her stop.

"Keyara, I ask that you stay with them." Alvis said sadly, causing her eyes to widen in shock, and the others to gasp.

"ARE YOU CRAZY?! Hell no! Alvis, we were separated for over 8 years, I don't want a repeat of that." Keyara said, clutching his jacket, but he sighed, shaking his head.

"No Keyara. You were here once before, you will be better at helping them through the Fortress." Alvis whispered to her, glaring and she glared back.

"No! I am you Guardian, you are my Seer. I am to protect you at all costs, even should it cost me my life." Keyara stated firmly, but Alvis shook his head, prying her hands off him.

"I didn't want to do this, but I guess I have no choice. Keyara, as the Divine Guardian, I order you to remain with Shulk, and the others. As you are my Guardian, I expect you to follow your order's." Alvis stated, firmly.

Tears appeared in Keyaras' eyes as she felt the ether disobey her, and push her back. She held herself, sinking to her knees, her body shaking with sobs.

"N-no...Alvis...I-I can't...I don't want to be separated again." Keyara said, trying to contain her emotion's.

"Alvis, have you lost yer mind?!" Reyn shouted at him, but Alvis ignored him.

"She is of more use to you all than me at the moment. I will be safe within the Capital, and Keyara will be able to help you all through the Fortress and deal with enemies quickly." Alvis said, then motioned Shulk over.

"I know you and I are the same...but I ask that you watch over Keyara. I know you have a heavy burden as it is...but I can't bear to loss Keyara." Alvis said, and Shulk hummed.

"Then why not keep her with you?" Shulk questioned, confused.

"I wasn't lying when I said she'll be more use here than with me. Besides, she needs to be here for Melias' sake, the two need one another every now and then. And there's also..." Alvis blushed, and feel silent, looking away.

"And also...what?" Shulk asked, curious.

"There's also Kallian. He won't mean to, but Keyara would be worked to death for the Alliance...she can't take much more work. Kallian would pile too much work to where she'd collapse. That's also why I want you to keep an eye on her...she'll stress herself out without meaning to." Alvis said, and Shulk sighed.

"So, basically keep an eye on her?" Shulk questioned, and Alvis nodded.

"Yes...please, protect her in my place." Alvis said, bowing to Shulk a little.

"Alright...I will, and don't bow, Alvis. We're friends." Shulk said, amused, and Alvis chuckled.

"Alright, well we best be off." Alvis said, walked toward Keyara, knelt, and hugged her.

"Be careful Keyara. Watch yourself, be cautious of the ether, and be there for the other's. They need you." Alvis said, and overcome by a strange emotion, kissed her forehead, trying to have his ether reassure her he would return.

Keyara felt his ether waves, and smiled sadly, before she returned the hug, shocking him and the others. Alvis blushed, but smiled, and stood helping her up.

"You better be waiting for me when I return." Keyara told him sternly, and he nodded, flinching at her tone.

"I will." Alvis said, kissed her cheek, then followed Dickson onto the ship, unaware of Keyaras' blushing face.

As the ship left, Keyara sighed, before turning toward Galahad Fortress, a face of anger crossing her face. Here...it was the reason she had to leave Alvis, it was the reason she wasn't completely Homs anymore, it was the reason she had to be separated from Alvis for longer than a week. She would tear the Fortress apart hand-by-hand if she had to.

"Alright, let's go!" Keyara shouted to them, and they nodded, following her into the Fortress.
