Katinara and Ryoko, Ch.2: Peaceful Slumber

Last Chapter: "Aside from my broken, left leg, I'm fine." Katinara said, and the boy hissed at the sound of a broken leg.

"Damn girl, some would've fainted from that, especially after the slamming you received. I'm surprised no one else heard your screamed. I heard it from the meadow." the boy stated.

Katinara only sighed, but suddenly a arm going under her under body, and another arm wrapping around her legs made her give a small yelp, and cling to the boy.

Now:

"Jumpy?" he teased, and she glared at him.

"Don't...DO THAT?! I don't even know you, so why are you helping me?" Katinara questioned, and the boy scoffed.

"Who wouldn't after seeing you like that?" He questioned, and she only sighed.

He sure was playful, and arrogant for that fact also. Whoever he was, he sure didn't know when to quite teasing, but she appreciated his help. He did save her life after all. When they were deeper in the forest, he stopped at a small clearing, and set her against a tree, before ripping off part of his sleeve.

"What're you doing?" She asked.

"Patching you leg up." the boy said with the fabric hanging from his mouth.

He rolled her left pants leg up, and looked at the damage. He pressed two fingers against it, hearing her hiss, but the only thing that felt odd was bone seemed dislocated. Her relocated her leg, causing her to scream in pain, before wrapping it up with the fabric.

"What did you do?" Katinara questioned.

"Your leg wasn't broken, but it was out of place. I just put it back in it's place. I wrapped the cloth around it as a sling. You shouldn't walk on this leg for about a week." The boy said, and rubbed her leg, sending shivers up and down her spine.

'Does he even know what's he doing?!' Katinara screamed in her mind.

"W-what's you name?" Katinara stuttered out, the sensation's on her leg causing it.

"Oh, where are my manner's? My name is Ryoko, Ryoko Kusonagi. I'm a red wolf demon, with relation to that of the brown wolf demon tribe." Ryoko stated, and she smiled.

"So, what's the name of the woman I so chivalrously saved?" Ryoko teased, but meant his questioned, but the way he said it made her blush.

"K-Katinara. Katinara Tashio, only daughter of Inu No Tashio. I am fox, dog, and human." Katinara said and Ryokos' eyes were wide.

"Your the daughter of the Ruler of the Western Lands? Damn girl, you must have it good." Ryoko said with a smile, but she only lowered her head.

"Hn? What's wrong?" Ryoko questioned.

"I don't have it good. Besides, I don't like being treated so highly, and it annoys me when someone finds out, and they treat me like a Princess. Can't I be treated like a normal demon...or half-demon, or whatever I am?" Katinara questioned, and Ryoko smiled.

"Status and ranking don't matter to me." he said simply, and she looked at him shocked.

"Human, half-demons, and demon's are the same. Slimy, greedy, envious people who don't give a damn about others. There are the few exceptions though. There are those who are caring, kinda, and generous towards others, even accepting, but everyone has something in common. Greed!" Ryoko said and smiled at her, and she smiled back.

Finally, someone who would treat her normally. Ryoko smiled at her, and leaned against the tree she was leaning against as well.

"But then again, what fun would the world be if people who were of 'higher rank', were treated with royalty. Boring as some would say." Ryoko said and Katinara chuckled.

"Well when you put it that way, I guess so. But everyone is equal, I agree with you there." Katinara said and smiled as he chuckled as well.

"Anyways, get some sleep. After what you've been through, I would except someone like you needing to get some rest. Besides the sung has long set." Ryoko stated, and Katinara nodded.

She leaned her head against Ryokos' shoulder, and he looked at her confused. Does she usually warm up to strangers this quickly? He only shrugged and leaned his head against hers as well. She sure was pretty, and he looked at her again, and noticed just how pretty she was. Pure white hair with fox/dog ears to match, and a fox/dog tail was well, each perfectly tipped black, and he had already seen her eyes. They were like amber pools, trying to suck him in. He chuckled about all this.

'Heehee, when I become a sucker for romance?' He questioned himself jokingly.

He knew though, that something about this girl drew him to her, and now, he wanted to know just what it was. He smiled, and leaned his head against the girl again, feeling her ears twitch against his cheek, making him give a small chuckle. It was kinda ticklish, but he didn't care, he was actually quite tired himself. He soon fell asleep, just like Katinara, both peaceful.
